Shefali S. Kulkarni is a multimedia, freelance journalist in Washington D.C. She recently worked at Kaiser Health News, a non-profit news service, where she wrote about domestic health care policies.

Previously, Shefali wrote for  The Village Voice and The Daily Beast/Newsweek. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Beloit College and a Masters of Science in Digital Media from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Shefali has worked and interned at publications around the country from Willamette Week, to Dallas Morning News to Washingtonian Magazine.

She is the Executive Secretary and serves on the executive board for the South Asian Journalists Association, an international, non-profit journalism organization.
